February 22nd, 2010—EventDV magazine has unveiled the 2009 EventDV 25, and Miami, Florida -based Ray Roman Films was named to the list as one of the 25 hottest and most influential filmmakers in the world. The honorees were announced in a four-part awards show presented this week on EventDV’s online video channel, EventDV-TV.
“As the event video industry’s one and only all-star team, the EventDV 25 gives us the opportunity to recognize those filmmakers who are wielding the most influence today, through their innovative work, educational efforts, and outreach to other videographers around the world,” said EventDV Editor-in-Chief Stephen Nathans-Kelly. “To make sure we recognize the right people, we turn the selection process entirely over to the ‘fans,’ and let our readers pick the team. Over the six-week online voting process, readers cast thousands of votes, and our all-star team emerged.
In addition to voting for their selections, readers had the opportunity to supply a brief description of their chosen candidate’s merits. Of Ray Roman, one voter wrote, “Noone can be around Ray Roman without being inspired and challenged by him. Our industry has long needed it’s Alpha-dog!”.

On Feb 15th – 16th, we had the pleasure of meeting some great people that attended our 2-day hands-on workshop in Lima, Peru. The weather was perfect and the food was out of this world. The attendees were so excited to check out the Canon DSLR cameras first hand, along with cinema gear provided by Cinevate (www.cinevate.com). The setting for the workshop was complete with a bride and groom, hair & make-up artist, limo w/ driver and a beautiful setting for the ceremony. Miguel Irias (www.miguelirias.com) was also on hand and filled in as a great officiant (possible a new side gig of his whenever he’s not shooting spectacular photography). We even had a popular dress designer in town provide the dress for the bride. Anyways, we shared all of our different shooting techniques, fundamentals and use of enhancement tools. We also cut some of the footage, while going over various editing and color grading techniques (See video clip below). A huge thank you to the attendees for the warm welcome and we look forward to lasting friendships..
